3 DAY SEMI-PARTICIPATION SAFARI EXPLORING KHUTSE GAME RESERVE
DAY 1
We leave Gaborone in the morning, heading North West to the village of Molepolole. From there we travel on the last section on tar to Lethlakeng, before setting out along a gravel road. There are some sandy sections on the way and we pass through several picturesque villages. About 105kms further we reach the Khutse Game Reserve Gate. This will be the last stop for running water before we travel through the Reserve to our chosen campsite. The reserve has recently added basic facilities to its campsites, so we will have access to bush showers and toilets. We spend this evening relaxing in camp and enjoying sunset at the waterhole. Dinner will be prepared on the open fire.
DAY 2
We awaken before sunrise to tea, coffee and rusks, and a chance sighting of game at the waterhole. By mid morning we will leave for the southern pans and waterhole in Khutse. Light lunch will be served here. Our journey back will traverse the few tracks covering this lower region of the Reserve. We will reach camp before sunset and have sundowners overlooking the waterhole, before another fine dinner.
DAY 3
Game viewing at the waterhole and a leisurely breakfast in camp. After breaking camp we travel out through the Reserve, exploring the remaining tracks and pans to the northern section on our way. This area holds much of the antelope and other game which frequent open pans.
We will arrive back in Gaborone around sunset, where you will be taken back to your evening’s accommodation.
